Its a link to SJU Librarians and can be of value to Distance Students. Regardless of where the student is this service allows them to send questions directly to SJU librarians who monitor the service Monday through Friday and frequently on the weekends. Try it yourself. Click on the Logo and send a question! While the service states that questions are answered within 24 hours - the actual response time is much less and frequently occurs within the hour. You can place the above logo and link on your WebCt page and make this service directly available to your students. Place your cursor over the logo and right click. Click on Copy. Move to your WebCT courseware and to the location where you wish to place the Link. Hold down CTL key and tap the V key on the keyboard. This will paste the logo into your files. copy the entire link in the cell immediately below and paste it into the same location you pasted the logo. The Logo should appear on your page and be linked to the AskUs service. "A forthcoming report of a study shows that students in a course at Cornell University have generally used fewer and fewer scholarly materials in their library research in the past six years. But the professor who teaches the course reversed the trend by providing a few clear guidelines in term-paper assignments." SUNY Online Enrollment Up 34 Percent The State University of New York (SUNY) said that fall 2002 enrollment of 19,214 students in the SUNY Learning Network (SLN), its online learning arm, is an increase of 34 percent over the fall 2001 enrollment of 14,303. The growth puts SLN's projected total year-long enrollment at more than 50,000 students, breaking last year's all-time record of 40,000 students enrolled, which was an increase of more than 56 percent over the 2000-01 enrollment of 25,500. In SLN's first academic year, 1995-96, the online learning network enrolled 119 students in eight courses on two campuses. In fall 2002, 1,399 faculty members offered 2,067 courses.
